Week 5
After showing this blog to several folks, I've realized that the photo captioning is confusing. So I'm switching to labels under the photos and a better gap between each photo. I'm also going to commit a cardinal blog sin and retro this change into the previous blogs.
So quite a bit of progress made this week. The water line from the street has been replaced. The gas line from the garage has been replaced with 1" pipe. Inside, the rough plumbing has been finished. I was hoping to take some photos showing the amazing pipework, but when I returned on Saturday the sheet rock had gone up as well. Finally, the rooms are beginning to look normal again. I met with the tile guy - Ernie - this week. We met at the tile and stone place and talked through the designs for the two upstairs bathrooms. Based upon his advice, I've changed the tile to be used. It's a lighter tile, but more consistant so the overall effect should be much better.
Next week the bathrooms get "mudded" - which, I believe, is the stuff that goes over the sheet rock. I guess we'll find out shortly...
